Quite true, though I myself tend to mock my victim while shooting their legs. Their death is made more satisfying by their pleading and death scream; of course, I do commonly listen and allow them to escape.
I am not without a trick, however. Many times I have already trapped a hallway, or set a pitfall at the end of the bridge. Delayed revenge can be quite satisfying.
You are forgetting one thing, though; once our mutual enemy is dead, a quick Russian roulette is played. You win, you die; you lose, we both go our separate ways.
Oh Tron, you silly nitpit. Listening to them plead for life is nothing compared to listening to them plead for death. Torturing them both physically and psychologically until their pain on both levels is too much to bear. Then they...break. Deciding that losing their life is a fair price in compensation for not having to feel their pain anymore.
Only for you to deny their offer. They had their chance. Why should you grant them that little pleasure? They then slip further and further into the deep dark bowels of despair.
As for Russian roulette, it's obvious it's just a formality. After all, if a silly bullet to the head could kill one of us, we both would have died long ago.
