Q - Is/Will StarForge be free to play?
A - No, the basic game will cost $19.95 through alpha and beta, and end with the price tag of $39.90.(Price is subject to change)

Q - what happened to Hatch points?
A - The developers have scrapped the idea. Hatch points are unneeded now that the game has a cost.

Q - Why does the game lag on my nice new PC?
A - The game is currently in an Alpha development state and is unoptimized and unfinished.

Q - When will StarForge be finished!?
A - When it's done™

Q - Can I donate money to the developers?
A - Yes! http://www.forgeplanet.net/buy_game.php (buy more copies of the game!)

Q - Will there be dedicated servers?
A - YES! It's been confirmed by the developers that StarForge will have dedicated servers hosted by players.

Q - Can we create our own maps and share them with others?
A - Yes! Maps will be generated using random seeds (similar to Mine****) which can be sent out and shared among anyone who has a code. This, however, is still an idea, but I have not heard any different yet. It is probably best to wait for the upcoming gameplay video to see if they shed any light on the subject.

Q - Will there be a survival mode where you have to gather materials in order to build structures like Mine*****?
A - Yes. There will be a survival mode.

Q - Will we be able to add friends via a list like in many online games?
A - Correct. The developers have announced that there will be a friends list system.

Q - Will there be more graphics customization options?
A - Yes.

Q - Will I be able to craft items?
A - Yes, via a crafting interface.

Q - I saw a helicopter in the video! Can we have vehicles?
A - Yes.

Q - It's a pain to move around.
A - It's being worked on.

Q - I'm a competitive person, will there be competitions?
A - Yes, and a ranking list.

Q - Will there be new monsters?
A - Yes. StarForge is still being worked on constantly and more will be added in future releases.

Q - Will this game work on Mac?
A - It does work for some computers using emulators now, though it is touch and go. Mac support itself is no longer a long-off goal, and is optimistically planned for early next year. Linux will follow shortly after they get this process streamlined.

A - Mine***** was NOTthe first game with these gameplay elements. One could say the same thing about Mine***** and it's predecessors.

Q - Can I record and post videos of this game?
A - Yes.

Q - Some website if offering downloads for StarForge that have "enhanced content" or are offering Editors for the game! Is this legit?
A - No! Only StarForge software from the official StarForge website is legit. Many of these websites place Viruses and other malicious programs into the downloads that can do things like hijack your account and or things such as credit card info.

Q - I found a bug! Where can I report it?

Q - What are trees for?
A - You obtain wood from trees. Walk up to the tree that has most recently offended you. Press 4. Leftclick and pull up. Pressing E to collect wood. (some versions of the game do not support tree cutting, it is best to play 0.1.1[download location can be found in on these forums] if you want to properly test this feature out!)
In later releases wood will be used for construction purposes.

I would like to thank Tron for providing updated information to me in order to promptly update this FAQ. As I'm in and out of the hospital, keeping up with things can be a bit of a challenge for me. Thank you Tron.

Hey admins, can we get this sticky'ed?

You can delete blocks, just not objects like turrets, spinners and spotlights.
You just tap "e" and it puts you in delete mode. Then left click the block and it deletes it. Then tap "e" again to go back to building mode.

What are tree's currently for?

pulling up out of their roots with the 4 key, then left click and hold, and pull up... walla you just cut/pulled you first star forge tree...

then you can press and hold e to collect wood... this does nothing though...

Yeah that wood will be collected in a future update. Then you can use it to craft wooden things. Thanks for making this thread.
