I'll never be able to play starforge and it looks so awesome,
I can run GTA 4 just fine without lag, but starforge doesn't load when I run it it just sits there at the black screen for ages.
I really had my hopes up with this game D:

With a simple search you would've known that the game is still in a very early alpha stage and they are working on optimizing it.

For example there will be a new sky wich means that StarForge will run better than before luckily.

The black screen is a very known issue but sadly it hasn't been fixed yet, just don't click anything at all and you should get past it. A loading screen will be added in the next version or on later ones.

Wich version did you try? Also what are your system specs, or even just your videocard brand?

You should try reducing graphics to fastest, resolution to 640X480, running it in fullscreen, and closing all background apps.
Then, wait at least 10 minutes.

Maybe go to the kitchen and make some tea or a snack before returning to see if it has loaded.

Also, this is a very early alpha release as Ratchet said. I doubt it has much optimization at all in its current incarnation.
The fact that they list 640X480 as a resolution that exists makes me think it's going to be pretty well optimized for lower end computers.

If none of those things work, maybe you should give this program a go.

i have had a similar problem. i bought the game this morning and once the loading screen finishes or whatever the game flat out crashes. This game looks awesome, but.. it dun work.

Hmm seeing as this is an old issue, it may be a problem. Well there is a major bug fixing update coming, so lets just hope it is good.
