this...is actually very odd for unity.

unity has a system for placing trees on a terrain mesh (i know, i've used it) this system reliably places trees at the proper y-cordinate (usually no matter what) the only thing i can think of for causing this is the "footprint" of the tree being too large, causing the editor to place it really far out (and i think this is pretty unlikely). the only thing is, the "footprint" would have to not only be wide but it'd have to be off-center (far off in this case if i'm correct). i can't play that map atm, so can anyone tell me if all the trees either are off-center in a single direction or , if they change orientation, what identifying pieces of the tree mesh are allways pointed reliably in context to the offset.

Goddamn trees. How dare they break the laws of physics.

I will have to check but I know I have also found trees with their trunks buried, too far, in the ground (some trunks are completely buried). Hope that helps :) .

alright, then that means it's either a terrain clipping glitch or a bug with the terrain editor.

i wonder if this level was made with a prototype generator algorithim, if so, that would explain all of this.

it looks like most of the floating trees are facing the same way compared to the slope and that the floating trees and buried trunks are in there own different regions. It could just be a messed up footprint.
